  • Does Submariners comes with 3186 movements?

hi...was looking around for submariners locally.
Saw a grey ad saying new submariner with new 3186 automatic movements.
    Rolex official website says 3135.

Any experts here can clarify this? Thanks.

Most likely the grey ad make a typo error . In most case, trust the info at the Rolex web site .

The Explorer II (42mm) is fitted with the all in-house 3187 movement, upgraded from the 3186 with Rolex's own paraflex shock absorbers, instead of the out-sourced KIF absorbers in the 3186.

              Rolex Movement:

              1) 3135 - DJ, DJ II, Sub Date

              2) 3186 - Ex2 and GMT2

Clearly the grey dealer had a typo somewhere, perhaps due to cut and paste.
              Current Collection :

              1) Rolex YG White Mother of Pearl Roman Dial Datejust 16018 (8 mil Serial)

              2) Rolex YG Black Computer Roman Dial Datejust 16238 (L Serial)

              3) Rolex TT Blue Submariner 16613LB (M Serial)

              4) Rolex YG Red Vignette DayDate 18038 (8 mil Serial)

              5) Rolex PT Pinkish White MOP DayDate 18206 (A Serial)

Believe it or not, it's only a 3186 in the GMT II c. A page from the GMT II c TT owner's manual:

Hope this woke u up further!! Cheers!

So far , there are no news of 3187 on gmt2c. But i forsee, they may put it in near future, no point for them to maintain 2 production lines for the same feature. I have heard they are putting the new blue Lume on newer batch of gmt2c , maybe those who bought the gmt2c could verify.

                      3185 to 3186
-more precise setting of the 12 positions for the 12-hourhand when switching to another timezone.
-own hairspring fitted, the "Parachrom Bleu"

                      3186 to 3187
                      - KIF shock system replaced with Paraflex

I believe most of the changes are due to Eta limiting the supplies of parts outside of the swatch group.

My GMT IIc TT bought in March 2013 (AN series) has Green lume. Between the GMT II c's green and my Explorer II Black (42mm)'s blue, the blue lume looks brighter (just my opinion though).

3135 is fitted with new Parachrom Bleu but the movement number remains unchanged.
