    Hi jake_16234,

If you search here, you will get the answer you want. The alphabets refer to the watch's year of production - 'V' being 2009/10, 'Z' being 2007/08, etc. The difference on the watches, if that's what you mean, will vary from model to model. An example will be the engraving of "ROLEX" plus the watch's serial no. on the inner ring of the case. This new security feature on most (not all) of the ROLEX watches only surfaced on the later 'Z' series and most 'M' series, and all 'V' series onwards.

Another difference will be the use of different watch movements on certain sports models, like the Explorer II. The newer ones, ie some 'M' series and likely all 'V' series, will house the 3186 movements (the older ones used 3185). If you want to know more, google using such terms like "oysterworld" or "oysterinfo".

Happy reading and happy new 2011

16234 and 116234 is different. 116234 was released somewhere in 2003 or later. With the new jubilee bracelet, solid end links, solid links and hidden clasp. It has a larger case, newer movement.

New jubilee is solid links, each link is solid unlike the older jubilee.

It will probably sag very slightly over time but definitely wont be as bad as the old 1. In a way...the problem is more or less solved.

Ok the alphabets represents the different years.

                    V series in 2008, X series in somewhere 1991,Y series 2002, Z series 2006 etc...

16234 was produced probably until somewhere early 2000s. Probably the least is Y series...
