need to see the real thing

I would think its the lighting. With the play of light, the blue will be a light blue as seen in the live shot and under low light, could be darker blue. So I think it will depend on lighting.

interesting dial and nice greenish Deepsea font. makes DSSD series more fun and cool.

need to see the real metal. i am wondering if one would get bored looking at such dial after a long while..

Yup and like the BLNR , the new Dssd is having an almost similar reception...lots of unhappiness why Rolex did as such...and a year pass on, the BLNR are selling like hot cakes. So I would reserved my judgement until I seen one in real life. Afraid,I bombard the funky looking dial, suddenly I like it, its like eating back my own words...hahaha.

Meantime I will keep on enjoying my original Dssd.

This is a real life shot. Publication brochure shots are somewhat glossy, wouldn't you say?

Exactly same pic I can say. Definitely not publication brochure shots. Pic was taken by the Italians in one of their well known AD and posted via the Italian site. They seems to be the first to see it live.

The Patent doc it seems to refer to the new illume material being use rather than a cermaic case. It does give a differnt feel to the old DSSD. The fadind is kinda nice. but it seems like rolex is into the blue black combination... ( remember the BLNR)...

But the GS has a uniform blue dial while the new Dssd has a gradient dial from blue to black...

    Awesome GS diver btw...
