  • Explorer II (16570) - To keep or to sell?

    Hi there,

I bought my old (40mm) Explorer II some years back and is now contemplating if this watch has any value after the new 42mm version is out. With so many temptations out there, I maybe tempted to get rid of it to free up some cash for new investment.

i would rather keep unless you really need the money, esp if you bought the watch brand new.

It depends on why you're considering getting rid of it. If you need the money, then, like the others have noted, you sell. If you're thinking of selling because you feel the watch is losing its value, then I think it's a little too late already.

are u a "one-watch" guy? if yes, then sell to buy latest model.

if u kinda like collecting watches, i rather you keep the old Exp2 and save up to buy the new Exp2. keeping the old Exp2 can let one appreciate the evolving of the series.

        just my opinion.

I'd go with this also...... and keep "exploring" for your next purchase

You can see prices here on SG-ROC.... but I've seen them here at 5.6-6.8K.

Depends on condition, demand, and many other factors.... etc

sometimes people sell is not because they need the money. maybe they lost interest in the watch but found it again later and buy again.

someone i know bought and sold a particular model of watch 3 times.

Essentially buying back something with the same looks as what i have sold albeit older and without box nor papers.

So the moral of the story is dont sell, unless you truly need the money.

Is totally different watch the Green sub and EXP, anyway u didn't mention whether is that your first Rolex? Most people would rather keep their very 1st Rolex. Is still your decision meantime aim for the green sub..
