"116710LN" is the model no. As for which series, you can look at the serial no. that will indicate. For example, if it's a 'G' series, the serial should be something like "G987654". If 'V' series, the serial no. will be "V456789". As for the new alpha-numeric series, the serial no. will consist of alphabets and nos.

Hi, how do I know which series a gmt master 2 belong? Recently saw one with model number 116710LN. Is it the model number or serial number?

Another newbie question, if decided to buy from grey dealer or garage sale and want to do verification by RSC, how is the process? Buy first then verify or the other way?
Technically, you should verify first before handing over the cash. Once $ change hand, there is nothing more you could do. But some seller might be reluctant to waste his time at RSC for them to verify, so you might request them to verify at those recommended 3rd party watch tech if he agrees to it. Lastly, make sure you sincerely wants to purchase the watch before you ask for any verification, as there are cases where buyer backed off the deal even the watch is proven authentic.

If you are buying from shop, then you need to pay first before you send for verification. But you can request them to state on the receipt, that full refund shall be give if the watch is not 100% original.

    Good luck in your hunt.

Current market for new will be G series and alpha-numeric series. Why not take alook in the garage, those gmt2c is price slightly lower then those shop you mention.

Go search under garage sale, I'm sure there are a lot asking for ard 9k. The high ballers (yes there r low baller buyers n high baller sellers too), just ignore them.

I'm wearing a 2 tone GMT 2 daily for nearly 5 months now, and the watch is still very mint. Key is to be careful when you are wearing the watch and not go bang against wall, objects etc. you also learn to shield your watch in crowded places lest some idiots clash their watch against yours, which is really OUCH! Lol
Gmt TT is one of the nicest watch.
