  • How much would a Oysterdate Precision fetch? Condition is not too good.

    Hello all,

I got a Rolex Oysterdate Precision. Comes with the green box. Anyone can tell what model is this? I believe this is bought by my grandpa in the 70s.

I wonder how much would a Oysterdate Precision fetch nowadays? Condition is not too good as per pic. I am thinking of repairing it the glass on the left side of the watch is cracked. Anyone got experience repairing it from local Rolex service center?

I remove the bracelet and look for the numbers on the case at 6 o clock and at 12 o clock. It said 7205 and 62.
Is that the model and the year?

Likely to be 6494? Or maybe 6694...

You sure there's only those 2 numbers? Or is it like faded?

Yes, pretty sure. The last 5 is fading but still can tell it is 7205. Is 62 the year of the makes? I am thinking if it worth repairing it or just sell it away?

Thanks guys. I am also thinking abt that but how much it would cost? The glass is cracked at the side, the face inside the watch is also fading to brownish color.

Can I also ask how much it would fetch if I sell it?

if it is repairing, the cost can be about ~900 for entire overhaul. then again, it depends on the 'repair report' by RSC.

to replace the acrylic alone, i am not sure if you can get the original ones. i have been looking for quite awhile but no luck. the after market ones are low cost and the magnification can tell one.

as for how much it can fetch, it also depends on the condition on the screw threads portion of the case. if it is rusted and/or pitted, it may affect the selling the price.

                  the bracelet condition looks alright.

if you can afford, keep it. though it's not worth thousands of dollars, but it's from your grandpa.

a rollie ticks forever, with proper usage and maintenance. =)

i think 3K is the worse case scenario. this is as good as as them giving you a brand new watch.

                            Hello all,

Is there any charges for checking the watch to see the quote for total overhaul at RSC?

I am not a watch person. So might be thinking of selling it too. Any good offer for me to consider? Thanks again..Happy boxing day!!
