It was a heavy downpour since 5am but, that never stop our great plan to Kukup Golf and country club, the outer most west of Johor state, just before famous kukup seafood village patronize by Singaporean or ard 20mins drive from Pontian town. It is a next south west course we know after Pulai Spring. We arrived at the club house at 815am and upon registration, the first flight set off at 840am. The first nine hole was great with cool and cloudy weather, course was forgiving so far and place was exceptionally good for golfers who just wish to enjoy their games without the rush and hassle. A stop over at the clubhouse after the 9 holes set in with complementary breakfast by the club. Our second nine started with challenging bunkers, narrower fairway with OB and water hazards. I set an over 24 after survived out from the final nine, being it is a coastal course with unexpected strong wind and course rating of 70.6 and glad with the score I made that day. We moved on for our lunch at a coffee shop zi cha at ard 3pm with the must have fish and prawn, being Pontian is famous for it fresh seafood. We parted off at Pontian with the other group carry on for dessert… Durian. For all golfers out there, Kukup Golf Club is running a promotion for every Mon & Tues, RM 160 per flight unlimited rounds. Other weekdays will be RM120 two balls with meal vouchers (twin sharing). It’s a definite value for money.
We will be having our next game sometime next week, shall let our chairman, UL to post up the time and venue.
Seem bro sam is keen in this game too. My game was 28 over, uncle Lau was on different flight.... with the "masters" i suppose?? We may be planning for another game next week provided UL organise with the group again. Let me know the date and time, shouldnt be a problem then.
Great game and food organised by our uncle Lau again!! Total of 4 flights with good mix of golfers... from the "masters", "Am-Pro" down to the junior golfer with youngest age 14 playing HI of 10plus!!!
As abt the course, Palmer being new has irregularity green speed and according to caddie is due for maintenience soon. Water course deliver great green and fairway. Should check out the hill course endorse with the course signature hole oversee the river and the great fairway that cant give a miss.
It been my first meet with Uncle Lau giving alot of great sharing and update on "hands" and "minutes". Never miss the roc forum topices. Thanks again for the game and look forward to your next golf slot!!!!
Ya...its a very nice club to play...But currently working in europe, unless if i buy it through ebay...if not, they will be quite ex...haiz...maybe use this for a year more before changing them...
went to check out the AP2 yesterday... wah its a beauty...... Tried the club (indoor range) and it seems pretty comfortable and solid feel upon impact...
QUICK GET THAT!!!!
Really impressed on u guys gving me so many advices...
I wanna change to steel shaft cos i find graphite too whippy, like u mentioned...
I dun belong to the low hadicapper side...just a person who treats golf seriously and wants to play well...I had attended a few coaching lessons... and my coach says that my swing looks great, but sometimes hit the ground instead of hitting on the sweet spot of the ball...But when i tried my friend's AP2 with steel shaft, I practically hit it very well and like it very much...His is custom made to him which i find ok for me too...
As for burner irons, maybe not. If i really wanna change clubs, my choice will be AP2 as well...Still thinking about it...haha, if change the irons, everything got to change too...Market is bad, need to save money for rainy days...
Thanks again...
