  • (birth year) watch

Just wondering... Anyone collects or buys just that one special piece that was manufactured in or close to their birth year?
I know Rolex watches lasts like forever, but I'm still a bit concerned spending so much money on a watch that's 36 years old (1977).
Also, there're so many models to choose from? How should I start?
Think i Got poisoned when I saw puffy's 1977 double red sea dweller!

Yes, I'm still looking for a 1977 Rolex for myself. And I also bought a Rolex DateJust 31mm last year for my wife, who will pass it to my newborn daughter!

Haha, I got an Explorer I early this year (but I think the watch can be considered last year's product) and I guess I'll eventually pass it to my little explorer of a daughter who was born last year!

Guess you and I would be competing for that special 1977 watch!

Smart choice. it will appreciate when it gets rarer as the days passes

Found a couple of nice 1977 classic pieces recently, but realised that the size (34 or 36mm) that is common those days is really a bit small. To get something more wearable, I would have to look at the sports series, like the vintage subs, but this could cost 2-3 times more... sigh....

                              (birth year) watch

now that you are interested in watches, will you get a preown watch with warranty card that has date aka the year that matches your birth year?

for those who born in the 60s & 70s, it may be pretty tough.

                              anyone got experience to share?
