Hi all,

Let me share my experiences with you all, I went to the above mentioned watch shop on sun to check prices for the Rolex Explorer II. When I was walking in, an Angmo walked in as well. 2 of the staffs saw us and guess wat both of them approached him while I was left out!! I know I was wearing jeans but that doesn't mean I cannot afford or not potential customer.

What is this sia?? Now I will never step in again.

Anyone exprience such bad services before??

I've stopped being bothered by this kind of thing. My reasoning is like this:

1) Can you blame them? If my livelihood depends mainly on completed sales, btw 2 possible customers, I also zoom to the one which I think is more likely to buy (whether white, yellow, black or green skin).

2) Have you tried selling stuff to a Singaporean? I sell stuff over the internet, mainly through ebay and yahoo auction ... and I tell you, our countrymen are one bunch of fargin w**kers. I recently put up my used E2 at an advertised price that a bunch of you guys commented was a good price. It was eventually sold but you wldn't believe the kind of nonsense I get via email/ pm (e.g. I think your watch only worth S$2k cause it's used so nobody wants it so you lucky to get S$2k at all... can I pay by installments to be completed in 2009... let's get it authenticated at RSC, I, as seller, to pay etc etc). I recently sold a toy off ebay to a local collector who subsequently accused me of "misleading" him and being "dishonest" when he was the one who got his facts entirely wrong (e.g his grouse was like saying that I misrepresented that the kermit was a limited edition) . Nvm, I offered him FULL refund, I drive to HIS place to collect the toy at a timing to HIS convenience twice. He said no need because "too troublesome", and then ask me can give discount???

3) You cannot stop ppl from judging you based on your appearances. When I first started working, I noticed immediately that I get better treatment when I'm in my office attire as compared to my standard weekend t-shirt, berms and slippers attire. So, if I receive good service, I make it a point to thank the person and remember his/ her name and next time, i will recommend him/ her to friends or buy from him. If service is krap, I just walk. Cannot even be bothered to tekan him/ her, cause it's a waste of my time...

so, relaxxxxxx, no need to get worked up over something like this...

I think our own asian also look down on yellow skin pple. I have these bad experience many many time leow. One typical example, when i asked for a particular model they will not hesitate to tell me the price of the watch first prior showing me the watch..

The funny thing is that more often than not these days it is the Asians with the money and the Ang Mors who are window shopping. Some shop owners have told me their observations too .

My own experience selling my stuff on ebay the last 10 years bears this out.

10 years ago the highest priced items were sold to americans.

5 years ago it was a mix of europeans and N.Asians (Jap, korean) ... with some americans.

1-2 years ago it was 10% Europeans, maybe 50% N.Asians and about 40% PRC.

Wow MP, If u want a full ball deal and y not TAHAN abit . See see half ball and grab a good watch deal. WE can always arrange a Dirinking session somewhere like Geylang, Joo Chiat or Katong for a WHO CAN GRAB THE FULLEST BALL deal. Isn't it well spent and also a great night with the bruthers at sg-roc ??? Dun Forget S'pore is a MNC now. Lottsa of varieties these days.

hahaa. Grab full ball? Nowadays little bit hard because tigress follow me when i go out at night for drinks.

Maybe can incorporate one of such mini gatherings together with pet's night fishing outing?

For those SAs who are stuck up, biased, only suck up to ang mos,etc... they can jolly well wait for ang mos to buy from them... no local business.. at least no business from viewers of sgroc...
