IMHO... Redstar standard have drastically dropped over the years. Even their once fabulous char siew pau also cmi now.

The service sucks as well ! The carpet stinks !
used to be value for money.....say 150-15 years ago ..........

Now as I aged I rather go for quality as no more spare room around my tummy ! No buffet too ! I used to follow my late grandpa to Red Star ,May Flower , Spring Court, Da Dong , Xin Nan Tang .......that time as I recalled the food were so fantastic !!!!!

Red star is the old era nice dim sum. Now my current hot fav are "Wan Hao" and "Tim Ho Wan" although I must stress that the HK Tim Ho Wan serves much better char siew po luo bun.

Value for $$ I would say is Swee Chun near mustafa.

Usually I spend like $10 per head.

Not that expensive compared to 126 or red star..

Or Crystal jade, they do make good dim sum for lunch- tea hours.

Summer Pavillion at Ritz Carlton has pretty good dim sum too. Victor's Kitchen is alright. Wan Hao is good. 126 good for odd hour dim sum. Tim Ho Wan's queue is not worth it in SG, but definitely worth it in HK.

One of the best, by any standard!

A pity we dont see such restaurants in Singapore any more.

食為先,一點心. Frankly i find these 2 quite good with the price. Each person around 7~8 sgd. ok, i admit i still enjoy eating at a local coffee stall type dimsum. Although it is not posh, grest food great price and full of 人情味。thats already enough.
