Very interesting way this thread has progressed. Anyway, to add my own limited knowledge to the discussions here.

The US dealers do indicate the color of bezel in their papers. Alphabet behind model number will do that, A-black/red, B-blue/red. I forgot the code for full black, think its 10.

As for serial numbers, I heard Rolex keeps the most recent 50000/60000 serial numbers randomized. The last 50K/60K serial numbers are not manufactured in sequence. EG. a M00xxxx watch may be produced before a Z99xxxxx watch.

200 pieces? That means there are probably no more than 2-3 pieces in circulation per country. If true, That could be even a lot rarer than Daytona mk1 porcelain dial which are very difficult to find these days...
