Haha.. I like that... will certainly take your part...

However what she couldn't accept was the price of my new watch... its about 10 time more expensive than my current Seiko Premier...

I'll need more" ammo" to fight this war

just tell her in a man's life what is needed (not want) is a good watch to last u through and acc u through the thick and thin quietly.Ticking it away in 1 corner doing what it's suppose to do without complain.

            1) Tell her u need a solid watch as ppl ard u are wearing expensive watches. Sometimes u feel those ard u doesnt respect u. U find it hard to work in this environment.
            2) Buy 1st. Then tell her your friend sold it to u at a very low price that even if u were to sell, sure won't lose $.
            3) Tell her u want to leave the watch for your kid in the future.

Of course, whatever it is, make sure she is happy in the end.

I always tell my wife that it is better i buy watches than waste $ on other useless hobbies.

Can make up some excuse to get the watch... Like this year is your special birthday, or to remember / reward yourself for the hardwork u put in last year such that u get good bonus, election year , recovery from illness, to celebrate the first time u met your wife..... one of this should work.(hopefully)

She is an accountant... practical and logical minded....always save on dollar and cents.. She said only when I'm filthy rich, I can buy the watch... I explained the bonus is 'extra' money, which is not affecting my current saving status.. but To her I can save that money for rainy days...and quote the few thousand dollars watch spent is " a waste of money" ... she mentioned once it got scratches the selling price will drop in resale mkt-which is not true at all.... Ahhhhhh!!!!

Bro, which piece are you going to pull the trigger on?

Hope you managed to convince ur wifey on that!

Probably by doing some accounts and let her verify that the cashflow is strong!
The time in life is perpertually moving forward while that in the watch is going in circles.

To be really practical, life is plain existing.

                          No need car. Public works.
No movies, shows. Memory cannot sell.
No branded goods. $10 bag can hold same volume as $10000 birkin.
No good food. Tomorrow come out same stuff.
                          No jewelry. No real function.
No holidays. Happiness no resale value.

Just work, eat, sleep and waiting to kick the bucket.

                          My example is:
                          I don't drink, don't smoke, don't mod car, don't gamble, don't shop etc.

The thing that brings me some joy in this short existence which definitely retains more value than all those activities, is to buy and admire a few watches.

                          Alba Casio Citizen Roox Seiko

Wanted to add PP but bo lui

Sometimes u need to pamper yourself. U live only once. It's ok to indulge once in a while. What is life if u only slog your whole life making money to pass to your kids? Well, u decide.
