May not be true. I know a friend bought a preowned AP at $30k from a rich friend. But i found he can actually got a brand new from grey market at a even cheaper price .

Most impt u r happy. I buy watches cos they make me happy. Whenever I want to get a rolex, my frens will say y wan to get an uncle watch. but i dun care, afterall i am wearing it. not them

Uncles' watch?? I still cannot figure out which part of the watch resemblance or is associate with uncle especially the sports model?
Could it be the yellow gold or the "Five match sticks" which only the rich "tao kay" wore in the past and this perception was how it's still being perceived until today...?? Time to look outside the box...

it had to do with the loan shark image with the gold rolex, gold bracelet, thich gold chain necklace coupled with floral buttoned shirt, berms and a really huge ass voice and handphone...

I think you should just downgrade this close friend to just acquaintance. If I have been in the same situation as you (which probably will not happen), I would have told him "Birds of the same feather flock together, apparently you are not in the same flock as me. Go find your flock".

A friend is a friend, a watch is a watch, a collector is a collector ... At times it is difficult to have a friend who is a watch admirer or collector... So be it... Just be happy with your collections. I been wearing 18239 blink blink or daytona or others to take bus and train every day... Don't really bother ...

I have people giving me crap about me being rich and all when they all are earning much more than me. Then they like to attract attention by saying loudly that this guy is wearing a rolex. WTF?

They're probably just jealous.

The have to accept the fact : they wanted so much to have one but the time haven't come, OR they are have much more expensive watch than a Rolex but received less attention as not all Tom, Dick & Harry know Ulysee Nardin, M&BF, Urwerk, De Bethune ...to name a few.
