    Newbie here,
Planning to get a Daytona half gold version. Any shops to recommend? Considering new or preowned, budget below $20K.
    Thank you.

If you are one who plays safe, it'll be the Batman. Black dial, half black bezel with a bit of blue. If you like it a little louder, then the Hulk. So for a first ROLEX watch, and subject to what you have in your current collection, the Batman can come first.
Hi Oceanklassik, Thanks for your powerfully view. I will go for the Batman. Thank you.

"Ads", I'm referring to advertisers in the forum, like:

    http://zenwatches.com.sg/
    http://montres.com.sg/news/aboutus/
    http://grluxury.sg/
    http://chrono95.com/
    http://www.chuanwatch.com/
    http://www.monster-time.com/
    http://luxurykoncept2.com/
    http://www.athena.sg/

If not, you may also look at some other watch companies here:

    http://www.jwwatch.com/
    http://www.hjwatch.com/
    http://www.passions.com.sg/v2/
    http://www.visiotime.com/
    http://www.watchlink.com.sg/
    http://www.ebronzeage.com/

As for reimbursement/refund by the dealer, it is better you make this clear to the dealer before the purchase. It can be a little tricky and miscommunication may happen. At the very least, as a responsible buyer, you should not delay too long to get the watch checked after purchase so that if anything really goes wrong, you can immediately go back to the dealer to settle it. Most dealers I have come across are ok.

    Happy shopping

    Hi Oceanklassik,

Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate.

Ok so, I will continue to pick adds and info from the different thread to get additional shops to visit

For RSC, if they discover something wrong during the servicing, this should be ok to be reimbursed by the dealer. I just have to ask the dealer to write it down before paying. Understood !

Thanks and lets go to read news

I've started to work around the models and I have let on the side the 6 digits ones: too glossy, too big, too... Anyway, I will look for a 5 digits one 16610, 14060, 14060M. Since I like the cyclop 16610 will me my target And since I like the engraved rehaut it will be 16610 series M or V

So, since this model is not anymore available at AD/Rolex shops I have to look for a second hand. I have already checked couple of shops (Far East/Golden Landmark Shopping Complex/Lucky plaza) and hopefully I have read a lot of post from the forum with good advices

I still have couple of questions, excuse me for my ignorance:

    - Is there any thread with a 2nd hand dealer list? and comments about their reliability: sorry but I did not find even with the search tool... I see in some posts only the 1st letter of dealer or shop but not clear

    - Before to buy, it would be a must to get the watch verified: by a RSC. this check can be done in any RSC for about ~100$, correct? or if not possible to indicated on the bill that after check if there is something wrong I must be fully reimbursed

    - If I buy and bring it to a RSC for general cleaning/verif/lubrification... they could be in position to tell me if something is wrong in the box, right? Would you have any idea how much is this service cost?

Thank you for your help and tips!!! This forum is a must!!
I'm excited but do not want to be screwed
    Hi,

Congratz and I'm sure this process in looking for your grail will be exhilarating. But let me first try to answer your qns:

I do not recall of any thread here that sees a consolidation of pre-owned watch dealers in Singapore, with reviews. However, for a start, there is a number of watch dealers' ads in the forum which you may begin to approach. I have not heard anything adverse about them and these dealers/companies have been around for a long time.

Unfortunately, the RSC in Singapore has recently dropped the watch authentication service, and they no longer accept any ROLEX and Tudor watch for verification. You may have to seek a third party watch technician or shop to do that for you, and yes, for a fee too.

Alternatively, since you have the intention to send the watch to RSC for "general cleaning/verif/lubrification...", RSC can and will inform you if the watch is not authentic. This is because RSC will not accept a fake/stolen watch for whatever services you want them to do. And of course, there is a fee for most services you engage RSC to do. As for how much, best you check with them because fees varies depending on what you request for, and what RSC deem necessary to do.

    Good luck

Yes, to most models; not all.

For Datejust models, you should get some discounts.

Share your joyous moments here with us if you can.

    Happy shopping

Right to say that we can expect some discount from AD on top of the listed price?

Probably will be getting a pair of datejust with wife.

I believe the prices are quite transparent. You can easily check it out online or make some calls to enquire. Some Rolex watch models I recently came across:

    Seadweller 4000 a.k.a. SD4K (RRP: $13,990)
Some ADs are selling at a slight discount (10% or less), some maybe no discount. Grey dealers are selling it between mid 10K to high 11K. Can see the difference?

GMTIIC BLNR a.k.a. Batman (RRP: $12,010)
IIRC, most ADs are still selling this model at list price or premium. You can check online and here in the forum how much the grey dealers are selling it.

    Submariner ND a.k.a. Sub No-Date (RRP: $10,030)
Recently, this model has been getting popular (I dunno why), and the discount at best is 5-6% from the ADs. Grey dealers are selling it between mid and high 8K. See the difference?

There are many other models you can check and make comparisons. Hope you get lucky
