  • some info needed on rolex 6694 and 6444

Hi guys, there is this rolex 6694 and 6444 which caught my eye online and am quite keen to purchase either one of these watces. The problem that I am facing is I know nuts about rolexesor watches for that matter. I was hoping if anyone could help me out with some questions that I have? As I saw this on an auction site I do not know what price is a reasonable one? And does it matter if it has no box and papers? Apparently the owner refurbished the dial, hour, minute and second hands. Also change the hour markers.
Should there be any etching on the casing?
As for the 6444 it's in its original state and servicing has been done on movement.
Which would be a better buy at what price?
I would be wearing this almost everyday.
    Thanks!

cannot comment much on the 6444 as i got no knowledge on them.

as for 6694, it was discontinued somewhere from early 80s and mid 80s. as such these models are easily 30-40 year old watches.

if you are to buy them locally, do be careful on
    • over polished lugs (can be due to rough handling)
    • pitted case back (can be due to rust removal)
    • non original dial
    • non original hands
    • stretched bracelet
    • plus other factors

as for pricing, you may refer to the garage section.

to find one with box and papers will be good.

you may do a customized search on my nick to see some of the 6694 watch pictures i have posted.

do note that the 6694 is a manual winding watch.
