Hi steve1968tan,

I'm rather amazed that with your very short history (Nov 2011?) of trading in this forum, you can come across so many "questions". Simply amazing . Though I agree with one/two of those questions you raised 'weird', most, I think are not illogical. Whether you like it or not, when you are selling in an online platform, for whatever items they are, there are bound to have questions thrown at you. To me, as long as the questions are directed at the item(s) and not irrelevant to its sale, I'm fine. Do note that not everyone are equally knowledgeable and au fait. Some may just be starters/beginners. A little patience go a long way.

Do pardon me if I may have mistaken you to be another watch lover/hobbyist, like me. I have to clarify that I am not a watch dealer/PI of any sort and I buy-sell watches as my hobby, well sometimes helping some close friends too. So I may not feel as deeply affected as a professional watch dealer/seller.

my encounters of the third kind :

1) after viewing my watch, ask me should he buy from from another buyer as his price is cheaper....

2) after checking thur' my watch, need to ask his wife for permission to buy and will call me by evening, but never call. So worried for him, hope he is still around.....

3) before confirmation, want to meet at Rolex Centre to check if my watch is real and insisted I pay for the fee...lucky never ask me to pay for his parking or bus fare....

The payment of authentication fees is abit too much, it's a pretty much known practice that buyers will pay for it to be authenticated unless otherwise stated

Got people dare to say he very old bird in forum and knows the moderator very well and ask for price reduction or else he will ask the moderator to ban me. I just need to say 2 letters and he disappear...FO.

Maybe I should do that while negotiating....

1... bargain and bargain finally agree price, say need to sell his watch first to buy mine. Bruther please dun waste each other time.
2... agree on price, next sms tell you sorry typo error and offer a lower price to buy this time
3...another psycho, sms me a price and i say no, next day sms a even lower price i say no, 3rd day up another price i say no, 4th day he try another price and goes on and on till my watch was sold then he stopped!!
4... also got buyers who consecutively sms using different telephone numbers to play mind games, you know wat i mean right..

i. tells me he is broke but willing to buy my watch since nobody wants it anyway!
ii. tells me that he likes the watch but needs to ask his wife first (but I doubt he needs any permission if it's a one night stand!!)
iii. comment that the watch is 'dusty' (between the lugs) & wants a discount...like another 20% off!
iv. bring along a magnifying glass & insists that there's a scratch on the buckle!
v. keep insisting that there's another piece cheaper than mine & he is giving me the opportunity to sell him!

Think must be the stressed out lifestyle we are having in Singapore.

Recently been posting some watches for sale

Weird questions i received regards my sales like...

1... how many winds your watch reach max? can tell me exactly when the watch stops after your max winding? total how many hours and minutes till it stop? seriously how many of us keep track?

2.... after agreeing price, need to wait for finance minister (wife) to agree some more? Next time ask your treasurer/finance minister/daddy/mummy first la

3.... installment plan ? reserve till pay day? i now oversea can reserve for me till i come back? very common 'potential' buyers are asking...Full installment paid up then u get the watch

4... can get the original box and certificate for me then i buy..box still can get, original cert gone beyond the winds how to get?

5.... you accept other country currencies? i got no time to go money changer. I'm curious, the buyer has thousands of foreign currencies and free time to view sg-roc but no time to go money changer

6....super low ballers who can slash your price by 50%! try your luck somewhere else, u are wasting your time more by doing this to everybody

7....usual questions... any digit of 4? pls... Panerais come in size 44mm, before u buy, is already double 44 .

8...can tell me the s/no of your watch? the shop u buy? got original purchase of receipt, how much u pay? The watch for sale is preowned at 2nd price, if you expecting all these documents, suggest you buy brand new and pay 1st hand price lei

9....bargain over $50 when the sales of watch is above $10k....If you are dealing with thousands of dollars, pls don't bargain over $50 la

10...using a low value watch market of $2k to $3k to trade straight a panerai....There is this thing call internet and sg-roc. The price of your watch can check in the market easily lor

Seriously... I've ask question 1 when wanted to get a watch from a seller.. Ended up I didn't get from him as he can't answer me..... To me that's is a valid question to ask....

I've encounter 2,3,4,6&8.. When selling my LV....

I admit I've tried bargaining $50.... Over a 3k watch.. Ended up he gave in..... Money is still money....$50 can have 3 meals for 2 days and if the buyer don't see $50 in his eyes.... He can give in...

I have received cheques before.
1. From friends who traded with me before.
2. One chap asked for his cheque to clear before taking the watch. Viewed the piece at my place and gave me a full payment cheque.
I reciprocated by delivering watch to his place.

You need to discern carefully lor.

Met before..... needed to ask wife, ask girlfriend..... after price agreed and came for viewing.
Bo pian lah.... These pple you will always have when u sell online. Maybe they were hoping you would lower the price to close the sale.
