It takes some getting use to the wobble of 7750 movements . I got use to my ball 7750 wobble after 1 month .

If it is of any console to BD .

My Big bang is using a modified 7750 movement . The 7750 had been around since the 1940s and used in many brands of watches .

i agree with what marineguy8888 says about trying the watch before buying and that most important is that you like your watch.

I think Chopard is pretty respectable. Its one of the luxury watch brands that is better known for its design and has a high ranking in the fashion watch world.

Chopard is known for their happy diamonds series but have been around for a while. While they are no IWC or Pam, you will note that many of these "respectable" brands are moving down the fashion route while taking advantage of their reputation acquired from their previous innovations by reinventing their designs (sometimes in a disasterous manner!!). They also offer cheaper ETA based movement versions when they have their own inhouse movements. In this respect, Chopard is a leader of sorts.

While some friends may not like it, please feel free to wonder if they do know anything about watches...and the different brands.

and yes... Congratulations for being brave enough to get a watch less common

hi BD...i hope my comments didn't affect you much (or rubbing salt on anything), it's unintentional. I've few non first/second tiered watches but i love them equally. Heck what your attas friend said to you...bottom line...it's your watch and you must love/enjoy it..

p/s: i've my fair share of paying more than others...so dun be affected by it.

          cheers

Reminds me of a friend who used to ask me many times why I didn't buy ZX12R, why buy ZX9R, same price. I only smiled back. Deep in my heart, i was thinking, ya right, try outrunning me.

                        Chopard Dinner @ Equinox

Chopard brought in quite a number of pieces for show after the Basel.

There are interesting pieces such as the LUC collection, Happy Sport Collection, Chrono One.

I don't know much about Chopard, but an earlier post did mention that the GT XL uses ETA movement so you are probably right. Hopefully this means this watch I'm eyeing will be more affordable.
