Read some guy use a timer plug to regulate the china winders
dont use these china winder without the timer as the tpd is 3000
using the timer will reduce the tpd to recommended 500 to 800

Hi thanks for the advise. I will check number of rotations per minute when I reach home. I understand need to multiple by 180 cycles but why multiple by 2 again?

If using cw and ccw option. Can I assume cycle become halfed

with reference to your posts, you mentioned that it turns for 2 mins.

my calculation is based on the number of rotation per min.

hence you need to multiply by 2.

there are 1440 mins(24 hours) in a day
for option 1, one cycle is 8 mins, therefore it will perform 180 cycles. once you have the number of rotations per min, multiple it by 2 followed by 180, this will give you the TPD

Ok I did the rest. 11 cycles in 2 minutes. End up 1980 tpd. Far exceed the required 800!

So if I use option 3 cw and ccw option. Assuming ccw doesn't do or harm the watches. Will reduce the tpd to 990. Still exceed. Sigh

              thanks for highlighting.

i would still prefer to get one winder that clearly states the TPD rather than working out the TPD, then have to buy a timer to control the TPD if the TPD is too high.

So do you have to check the timer periodically, to ensure that it turn off and on correctly? Getting a cheap timer to control a cheap winder doesn't seem like a good choice. My take is that what is the cost of your watch compare to the cost of the winder. If not willing to pay maybe the wise thing is to not use a winder at all and save on all the uncertainty.
                Cheers
