For preowned pieces, the difference is significant.

For brand new ones, it depends on the model, and yes, for certain models the diff can be in magnitude of hundreds.

That's why it's good to do more research before acquiring one.

5-10% difference at least...so if yr watch costs $6K...it's few hundreds alright..

Yup, HK and Jpn are good places to find rollies..

      cheers

hi alhp, welcome aboard. as far as i can recall, THG NAC is not the place to ask for discount unless u are a very frequent customer. i bought my SD from THG PZ, small shop but at least the service was good.

anyway, take yr time to hunt for your rollie. welcome to the addiction, i assure you, there must be many more to come after your first purchase.

Ya. I think becos NAC got high human traffic. . The sales team there could easily meet target, therefore, less likely to give more discount to earn one extra deal.

Another gd outlet to try is THG Raffles Hotel Arcade. The arcade looks high class, less people go there to shop, so got more bargaining power. If you're looking for LV during weekends, go there best. At least no need to queue up to go in.

i use to go to the raffles hotel outlet, i had a very nice salesman named Xavier.. But unfortunately he left ages ago... Tat was easily 15yrs back where we (as in my family) bought from him like 8 watches in a year, for 2 yrs... He gave us very gd discount but nw duno where he disappeared to...
No harm trying as many outlets as u can since u r in no hurry to get 1.

yes, but in Oz it is quite a stealthy watch, since not many people like all this type of material things. and i actually looking to "downgrade" to expyII some time soon, so maybe this may pop up in the market sometime soon

                  Dear all,

Thanks for all the kind advice!

I have taken the plunge and bought my 1st rollie today!
It's the SS DJ with silver face and bling bling markers.

May not be the best price around but didnt want to haggle like buying vegetables in the market.

I'm still trying to figure out how to attach the pics, cos I think the file size of the pics are too big to be uploaded. Will attach the pics once I got that figured out, sorry not very IT-savvy.

                          Hi alhp!

CONGRATS in getting your first Rollie!!! Happy for you.

A brother here once shared this remark.. "It depends on how much you want the watch... you may spend alittle more and enjoy the price NOW or spend less and enjoy the watch later".

Dun let the price bother you... most importantly is that you get to enjoy it now...

                          PM-ed you.

haha, i feel like this shld be the thread i shld be in.
Im in my 20s too and am considering either Explorer I/II or DJ midsize.

So which branch did u get from finally?
Im looking around in Oz, but i have a feeling it wun be any cheaper than in Sg..but i travel to HK as well so we'll see hw it goes. Shld have went to see Rolex when i went Japan last yr...ARGH! At that point of time i hadnt thought about changing a watch.

I went to have a look at the DJ midsize with diamond dials SS bezel and it cost around 9870(if i din get it wrong).
Explorer I cost 5980 and Explorer II is 7055, all in aussie dollars b4 discount.
I haven chked out the prices in sg yet...
