Both SE (whom I bought from) and I was standing in front of the display and negotiating the discount for the Sub D and ND. I was aiming at the ND. Clean look n no need to bother with adjusting the date. A gentleman walk in and tried both watches and the explorer2 (black). Within 10 minutes, he bought the only Sub D.

Left the ND for me to try on which I am aiming for. However, when I try it on, it gives me the impression that it looks plain. Well, the SE managed to get another Sub D from another branch for me to try on and compare. In the end, bought the Sub D.

So, 2 Sub D within an hour. The cyclop do make a different.

IMO,sub with date for steel. ND goes well with rubber strap.

If you are going to wear the watch on daily basis, Sub with date. Else...

I prefer Sub date for 2 reasons: 1. Added function of telling me the date & 2. The cyclops lens for magnifying the date, which is a distinctive feature on Rolex watches, except for DSSD

Sub nd lower maintenance and less think to wind if u have more than one watch. Sub date for the "pong kia" date.

How did your observation come about? I thought there have been several pieces on sale in the forum's sales garage. And they're still selling?

Whist we are discussing our preferences for the sub with date and the subs without, it seems that the pre-owned market for subs with no date is drying up, ie very few are selling. It is because there's no demand, or it is because they are keeping their subs with no-date. Love to hear your views.

No date sub for the clean look...and less date setting if you have multiple watches to rotate.
