i go and sand off my safe's paintOriginally posted by leslie View Postgot lah..my 5 year old eagle safe paint works all peeled off liao..
got a new booil safe..better finishing lah..
can contact Mr Ong if you wanna have a look at the safes..quite a nice fellow..
http://www.herculesafe.com/
 looks better
their construction looks solid....... very nice, wonder if Oz got any of those typeOriginally posted by leslie View Postactually thiefs in singapore not so hiong like those italian job or ocean 13 people so normal safes should good for normal use..

one of the best safe is from fichet-bauche, the safes are approved by insurance underwriter for use in banks, military, money changer etc..
saw one 2 months back..price around $1200 for a 180kg safe..
http://www.fichet-bauche.com/GPS/Fic...et-bauche.com/

just buy one that is big enough, and go one size up for expansion. what i recommend, consider preowned bank safes, these go for relatively cheap, are solid, and can change the combo.Originally posted by mleewh View Poster.. i wanna ask.. usually you all buy wad size for the safes?
ermz.. got one local safe coy.. call dunno wad "sa" something something one...
i am currently considering a safe from one of the bank lobangs i have
... they need to upgrade, so maybe if dispose cheaply i will bite

i'm not sure what you guys put in your safe, i just put some papers, jewellery, and the safe key to my bank safe... nothing much actually...
for my needs, i will just get the heaviest safe i can get within my budget, coz:
1) if any thiefs/burgler were to pry open or cut open with an oxy flame, they most prob need to carry it back to their base, a heavy safe would deter them more than a branded one
2) branded/ex safe implies higher valued contents, all the more thieves wun wanna give it up...
but those are just my views though, matching to my needs... you may have other needs and opinions...

actually no need too heavy ones too..some of the safes have in-built alarm which will be turn on once the safe is being tilted..until somebody opens up the safe door to reset the alarm..
